I'm Late! I'm Late!

Will someone please tell me how it got to be Dec. 5th already? Does global warming make the earth spin faster?

I had good intentions to get Christmas chores done in a timely fashion so I could enjoy the season and NOT surpass the Grinch on grinchiness. The tree is up and has lights. That's it. The dining room is piled high with boxes of decorations and ornaments. I grow weary just thinking about it. Johnson has been less than subtle about his desire for Christmas cookies. When am I going to fit that in?

Speaking of Johnson he has turned into a decorating fool. Last year he said, "don't ask me to hang Christmas lights, because I hate it."  In the past two days, he has not only made outdoor wreaths and decorations, he's hung them, and lit them up. He's planted poinsettias, and put lights all over the bushes. Every time I go out, I discover something new. All this from the guy who hates Christmas lights.

I'm remembering the little boy and how he loved the lights. I guess at Christmas the little kid in all of us comes out to play. We want things to be magical again. I think I could stand all day in a Christmas tree lot just smelling the fresh pine smell that is as much a part of the holiday as gingerbread and cinnamon.

I think I'm ready for John Denver and the Muppets. How about you?

Birds of a feather flock together, or so they say Mary...I haven't put up much by way of decorations and I'm not sure I will at this point...with packing for moving I'm just not that into it? I did manage to make a wreath and hung that on the outside door, and pull out the magick snow globe the kids like but that's it so far, lol. John Denver and the Muppets sounds good tho! :) Hey! Can Johnson come and hang up lights here?

Well, it's now the 10th and the pace isn't slowing! Somehow it will all get done and the holiday will be enjoyed. Must be Christmas magic! :)

Holy Moly

I knew it had been quite some time since I'd posted anything here, but had no idea it had been since December. Where does the time go? Is there anyone out there still reading this blog.  I don't know what happened, but the words just quit coming. And maybe I got lazy. Misadventures of a Happy Heart A Memoir of Life Beyond Disabilities by Amy Quincy When E-books first came out, I was of the I'll-never-buy-one-because-I-like-the-feel-of-a-book-in-my-hand school of thought. Then I bought one. Then two. Then enough more to realize reading on a Nook was infinitely easier than holding a bound book and turning the pages, especially when reading in bed. Which is where I usually read. I also like the fact that I can make the font bigger to match my diminishing eye sight. I got a new pair of glasses last week and was amazed at how clear and bright the world looked through the new prescription. The saleswoman put a card with tee-tiny writing on it under my nose and I could read with no difficulty at all. Until I got home. Now I'm having to move my head either up or down depending on whether I'm looking far away or close up. Perhaps I should have saved the money I spent on new glasses and bought a larger Nook.
