For Sorrow

My blogging friend, Sorrow Grey, reached out across cyberspace yesterday and touched my heart. How does that happen? That someone I don't actually know knows me well enough to put a comment on my "Refuge" post that made me smile, cry and feel blessed?
Please go back and read her comments and check out the John Denver songs she mentions. I have seriously never heard of these songs and I thought I was the most devoted of Denver devotees. The songs are really, really special. But more than that is the one who 1)took the time to read my post 2) related to what I said 3)remembered what I've written in the past of my connection to John Denver and 4) knew how his songs would take me to a place of peace. How cool is that?
And then, on top of all that, this sweet lady puts yet another song on her post for Merry Me.
I hope that I can someday repay the favor - or pay it forward as Sorrow does with her creations she sells on Etsy.
For now, I say a humble prayer of gratitude for friends, songs and a happy heart.

Merry, it is a moment of rarity and joy, when we do simple things that make some one else's day brighter, and you have done so for me! ( more than just today! I still carry an image in my heart of fairy wings by the side of the road)

Holy Moly

I knew it had been quite some time since I'd posted anything here, but had no idea it had been since December. Where does the time go? Is there anyone out there still reading this blog.  I don't know what happened, but the words just quit coming. And maybe I got lazy. Misadventures of a Happy Heart A Memoir of Life Beyond Disabilities by Amy Quincy When E-books first came out, I was of the I'll-never-buy-one-because-I-like-the-feel-of-a-book-in-my-hand school of thought. Then I bought one. Then two. Then enough more to realize reading on a Nook was infinitely easier than holding a bound book and turning the pages, especially when reading in bed. Which is where I usually read. I also like the fact that I can make the font bigger to match my diminishing eye sight. I got a new pair of glasses last week and was amazed at how clear and bright the world looked through the new prescription. The saleswoman put a card with tee-tiny writing on it under my nose and I could read with no difficulty at all. Until I got home. Now I'm having to move my head either up or down depending on whether I'm looking far away or close up. Perhaps I should have saved the money I spent on new glasses and bought a larger Nook.
